Pirelli has opened a new P Zero World store in Melbourne, Australia. The facility offers tyre sales and boutique services including a track expert, valet service, courtesy cars and other high-end touches. The fifth store of its kind, the unique retail outlet features Pirelli’s entire product line along with bespoke services for owners of sports cars and luxury cars. Available tyres include P Zero Trofeo R and the Pirelli Collezione classic car series. Motorbike and Velo road bike tyres are also available, as well as Pirelli Design accessories, which are developed in conjunction with prestige brands such as Montblanc, MV Agusta, Puma, Roger Dubuis and Tecnorib.
The services and products offered at the store are targeted at prestige cars, a sector where Pirelli says it has more than 50% of original equipment tyre fitments. In the premium market, the Italian firm says it supplies more than 20% of all original equipment tyres.
The Melbourne branch of P Zero World is a collaboration with Mag Wheel Tyre. The store has five service ramps and is located opposite the city’s premier shopping mall.
Mag Wheel Tyre, created in 2000, has been partnering with Pirelli for several years and serves around 40 cars per day. A large part of tyres sold in the store are 18-inch or larger, which is in line with Pirelli’s high value strategy. The state of Victoria, with Melbourne as its capital, boasts Australia’s highest number of vehicle registrations in the prestige sector. One of every three supercars sold in Australia is registered in Victoria, Pirelli said.
So far in 2019, more than 5,000 new cars at the very top end of the market were registered in Australia where currently more than 50,000 prestige cars are on the road. Average growth in the market sector is 8% compared to 6% in the premium market and 3% in general car sales across the country, according to Pirelli. Other Pirelli P Zero World stores are located in Los Angeles, Munich, Monte Carlo and Dubai.
